As public radio station, KUYI is required to meet the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations to stay on air. In order to receive grant funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), KUYI must disclose certain information publicly.

The Hopi Foundation Board of Trustees meets quarterly and at other unspecified times when necessary. Board members serve one to three-year terms and there is an allowance for a total of seven members. New members are appointed as needed by Hopi Foundation Founding Members at our annual meetings.
